TeraMedica Expands Internationally with New European Headquarters

Cites Strong Recognition of VNA Benefits Across All Market Segments

TeraMedica, the vendor neutral archive (VNA) company, announces the opening of a new U.K. office to service Europe, Africa and the Middle East, spearheading the firm’s international expansion. The company already boasts a significant European installed base achieved through an existing global OEM partnership. Now, it can drive and support core business directly with regional corporate personnel. The move follows record revenue growth during 2012 for TeraMedica’s Evercore VNA technology. The company experienced increased sales across all market segments, from private practice specialty groups to academic centers to government healthcare networks.

Large healthcare systems typically require seamless access to patient images across all access points because of their diversity of clinical services and technologies, and often multiple locations. The VNA’s ability to meet this demand, combined with opportunities for patient analytics enabled by enterprise architecture, make the VNA extremely appealing to university and large hospital environments. To date, nearly a dozen of the leading U.S. academic centers have installed the TeraMedica Evercore VNA solution.

Additionally, market drivers such as electronic medical record implementation, Meaningful Use Stage II, as well as health information exchanges (HIE), have also helped to fuel double digit growth for VNA technology.

“Europe represents a large potential market for VNAs, and we wanted to maximize our presence in the area and capitalize on our relationship with our existing distribution partners,” says Eddy Brown, Vice President of Business Development for TeraMedica. Jim Prekop, TeraMedica CEO, adds, “The new European office will play a pivotal role in our international growth.

As a pioneer and leader in vendor neutral archiving, it’s exciting to see market adoption shifting towards the majority. Early adopters have successfully demonstrated the value of an enterprise image archiving solution, and others are now recognizing the benefits and are eager to achieve them.”

During 2012, TeraMedica was also selected for a major installation in New South Wales, Australia, supporting one of the largest health imaging exchanges (HIE)s worldwide. The deployment showcases some of TeraMedica

Evercore’s most technologically advanced as well as unique features and functionalities and serves as an important showcase for the true power of the VNA. Already operational, Teramedica’s Evercore VNA is helping Australian states pave the way for integration and distribution of complete digital medical records for a patient population of more than 7,000,000.

“From start to finish, 2012 marked a banner year for TeraMedica,” says Prekop. “We are well positioned to enjoy an even more successful year in 2013.”
